VICE-CHANCELLOR’S QUALITY AWARD (AKNC)
BACKGROUND
The Vice-Chancellor’s Quality Award (AKNC) was first introduced at UMPSA in 2012. It is based on the Prime Minister’s Quality Award (AKPM), which is awarded to public sector agencies that have demonstrated overall excellence in organizational management and are capable of delivering high-quality services to their clients.
OBJECTIVES
- To strengthen a culture of excellence in every faculty and department at UMPSA;
- To embrace best practices and excellent management strategies;
- To encourage healthy competition among faculties and departments in evaluating their own performance and implementing continuous improvement;
- To benefit faculties and departments by helping them assess their level of excellence and pursue continuous enhancements; and
- To recognize faculties and departments that demonstrate initiative and outstanding achievements in all aspects of management, underpinned by exemplary leadership.
AWARD CATEGORY
The AKNC consists of a single award. It is established to recognize a department that successfully cultivates a comprehensive culture of quality.

APPLICATION CRITERIA / REQUIREMENTS
i) Open to all departments/faculties at UMPSA;
ii) Must obtain verification from the head of department;
iii) Nominees must not have received this award in the past two (2) years, specifically during the Innovation Quality Day 2023 and Innovation Quality Day 2024
